ANTIPODES

It might be a little warm where you are. You might be up to your elbows pulling weeds in the garden, or you might be soaking up the sun on a beach somewhere. A wool sweater might be the furthest thing from your mind, but may we please interrupt your regularly scheduled summer fun to tell you that it’s time once again for knitters to start dreaming of fall… apple cider, turning leaves, a little bite in the air… You guessed it! Rhinebeck Season is here!

This year’s Rhinebeck Sweater, Antipodes (that’s [an·ti·puh·deez] if you were fixing to ask) is another collaboration among Andrea Mowry of DreaRenee Knits, yours truly here at Spincycle, and the amazing dye team at Farmers Daughter Fibers.

Andrea’s signature move is an easy-to-style silhouette, and we can confirm that she has nailed it again. We love the clever colorwork (think of a repetition in reverse), and we could go on and on about the brilliant shoulder construction that lead into the sweetest little 2x2 sleeve stripes. (If you haven’t knit Dyed In The Wool with a solid in a 2x2 stripe, you’re in for such a satisfying little experience in color progression!)

Some of us here at Spincycle HQ took the plunge and tried FDF’s Confluence, and can confirm that it is lovely to knit with, and some of us used our SY x FDF collab yarn, Spinster’s Daughter. All of us used our very favorite Dyed In The Wool colorways, naturally! We’ve assembled a few bundled options for y’all, and we’ve got even more suggestions for color pairings that you can put together a la carte. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Instagram to see our recommendations.

And yes, there will be a KAL (with prizes!), IG Live events, places to share your WIPs and FOs, and, of course, the highly anticipated meetup on the hill at the New York Sheep and Wool Festival.
