We know that sometimes the yarn arrives and it's just not right for you! Not a problem. You can return an item for a refund to your original form of payment or store credit.

You must include order number! Without an order number, it is very difficult or impossible to figure out whose account to apply a refund to.

Purchases of discounted items are always final. This includes our yarn "seconds," sale items, cut fabric, and discontinued colorways.

We also do not accept partial returns of bundles; in other words, if you buy a project bundle that includes multiple yarns, you must return all or none of the bundle.



Because of fluctuating inventory numbers and how quickly some colorways sell out, we cannot offer exchanges. Instead, please make a new purchase and then return your original purchase for a refund.



Yarn returned to us in its original condition will be accepted, as long as you initiate the return within our return window. The window begins the day your package arrives and is open for: 30 days for domestic orders, 6 weeks for international orders, and 14 days (receipt required) for brick-and-mortar purchases.

Yarns that are damaged, wound into balls, missing tags, or sent past the return window are not eligible for refund. Examples of "damage" include, but are not limited to, the following: yarns covered in pet hair or smelling of perfume or smoke, yarns with moth damage, yarns that have been accidentally cut during the opening of your package. (This happens. If you can't open your package by tearing it, please be very careful when using scissors.)

Items found to be in unsellable condition are not eligible for a refund and may or may not be returned to you.

Once our shipping department receives your package, returns are processed within 5 business days. You will receive a refund confirmation by email once your return has been processed. 



We cannot accept returns or exchanges on yarn purchased from one of our stockists. You must return the yarn to the shop from which it was purchased. LYS return and exchange policies differ by location. LYS items included in an online return/exchange are ineligible for refund and may or may not be sent back to you.


Sometimes our shipping team accidentally sends out the wrong yarn weight, quantity, or colorway. If we made a mistake in your order fulfillment, we will generate a return label for you free of charge, and ship your correct skein(s) for no additional shipping cost.


We reserve the right to retain 20% of your refund for a restocking fee. Restocking fees are applied to orders returned without order numbers and returns accompanied by rude notes or emails.

Pro tip: If you find yourself about to write a cantankerous note to our shipping department just because you didn’t like your yarn, may we suggest hydrating, counting to ten, or going for a nice walk instead? We are here to help and no one even has to get mad!
