There’s just the slightest hint of fall in the air, and it’s giving me cast-on urges. We get a lot of queries here at Spincycle HQ about what to knit with our yarn, so I wanted to point y’all to a few of our favorite patterns using our yarns!
Debauchery is our tonal lace weight. We started with our take on a rainbow-ish palette… seven colorways named after the seven deadly sins. We’re slowly filling in with new colors all the time, and since we’re out of sins, we’ve started to use the queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race as inspirations. Yeah, you read me right. One of our absolute favorite FO’s in Debauchery comes from Fancy Tiger in Denver, CO. They chose our rich yellow colorway, Greed, to knit a pattern called Imogen Spring. It’s the perfect summer sweater! And even up to the medium size takes less than two skeins.

As for Dyed In The Wool, it’s been used for every kind of knitting pattern! There are so many choices. My current favorite project, though, is Circular Reasoning. It’s an amazing fair isle circle cowl, knit in the round and then grafted together at the end. I knit it using two skeins of DITW in Overpasses, paired with Sincere Sheep’s Equity Fingering in Cumulus. You could use any one of your favorite solids for this pattern, or visit the Kits section of our online shop to see the combinations we’ve put together. And our kits come in handy little muslin bags, to keep your knitting nice and neat!

Independence is currently my favorite line, though. It’s a heavy worsted weight, American wool singles yarn. We designed a two-color brioche cowl, using a skein each of two colorways. It’s called the Hawkshaw Cowl, and I love the pattern so much. Ok, I wrote the pattern, for full disclosure. And it is awesome. Pick two skeins of Independence, or pair one skein with a solid from your stash! Oh and we also offer Hawkshaw kits that come with two skeins, the pattern, a Spincycle sheep stitch marker, and a muslin bag!

And though the afternoons still get hot, let’s not forget Knit Fast, Die Young, our super bulky 2-ply! One skein projects are so satisfying, right?! I’m living for Waldeinsamkeit, by Caitlin ffrench. This simple slouch hat pattern takes almost as much time to say as it does to knit. By which i mean, if you start now, you’ll be done by bedtime!
Happy knitting!
