Why yes, we would love to collaborate with you on a shop exclusive colorway!
There is a bit of a waitlist for exclusives, since it takes time to develop a new colorway. Here is a very handy google form that Anna has put together, and which you must fill out completely to be considered for a custom colorway: https://forms.gle/w8rxpVBeFrNTNFLq9
Please be as thorough as possible, and include a photo or photos that accurately represent the colors that you want to see in your colorway.
Does your shop have a color scheme? A special photograph that moves you? A marketing team that’s researched next year’s Pantone trends? However you get to your inspiration, we are delighted to make it reality. We are able to dye you a special colorway for any of our yarn lines.
As mentioned before, we do have a bit of a bottleneck for new customs, so preference will be given to colorway ideas that excite and inspire us, and to shops that already move a high volume of Spincycle!
A few details:
- Due to our unique dye process, we need to dye full pots of each yarn as the minimum. The yield from a full pot is roughly 120 skeins for Dyed In The Wool, 100 skeins for Versus, 80 skeins for Dream State or Trine, 50 skeins for Plump. When you place your order from the wholesale listing, remember that you are ordering one entire pot, not one bag of your color!
- We cannot accommodate special yardages. Your colorway will be put up in the same yardage as our skeins in that line.
- We are happy to keep your custom color exclusive to you, as long as you are interested in reordering it at least once per year. If you decline to reorder, we may add it to our current collection.
- Once we have agreed to create a custom colorway for you, we will still need at least a three month lead time to turn your order around. Please plan accordingly, and let us know if you have any firm deadlines or events you are planning.
- We may (seriously, though, no promises) be able to rush your order if you need to receive your custom in under the normal 12-week turnaround. Rush orders will include a rush fee of 10%. When we rush an order, we may have to halt production on other yarns and/or ask the production crew to volunteer for overtime to meet your deadline. That is what the rush fee is applied to.
- We'd love to hear your suggestions for naming your colorway, but in order to keep our yarns "on brand," we will have final say on the name.
