About The Spinsters...

Spincycle Yarns is a two-woman operation established in 2004. We are the spinsters, Rachel and Kate, and we produce luxurious yarns, hand-dyed and spun into small batches of perfection.

For eight years, we existed exclusively as a handspinnery. Lovely, cozy, intimate... and exhausting! We couldn't keep up! The search began for a micro-mill that would understand our DIY methods of dyeing and spinning; we wanted more efficiently produced yarns, but we didn't want to give up the unique look of Spincycle Yarns. The search ended on Camano Island, where we found an amazing mother-daughter team operating a mill that could meet all of our needs! Thanks to their meticulous spinning (and infinite patience), we've been able to develop yarns that maintain the color artistry of our original handspun product.

Our yarns, dyed fiber, patterns, not to mention ourselves, have been featured in Spin Off, Stitch n' Bitch, Intertwined, Knit.Wear, Vogue Knitting, BUST, The Knitter, Pom Pom Quarterly, and Knitty. And we have been delighted to work with some amazing designers, including Ann Weaver, Andrea Rangel, Myrrhia Resneck, Stephen West, Lydia Gluck, Alana Dakos, Audry Nicklin, Dianna Walla and Andi Satterlund.

All yarns are dyed in the wool, resulting in intense saturation and unpredictable color changes. Skeins within a dye lot will blend together beautifully for a larger project, yet every skein is one-of-a-kind.
